Therapeutic Knee
FIRST AIDE-technique to this injury?
I have suffered (what I call) a PULLED TENDON to my knee-cap. I am barely able to stand on the one leg when I step on it.
Yesterday, I (admittedly) put too much force on my leg, building a house. - I did notice a "sharp (burning)-sensation" all around my knee-joint.
This morning. my knee was considrably swollen and sore (but only "sore" when I bent my knee to 30-degrees-or-so.)
I am applying all the 1st aide I can to it, hoping I can remedy any future injury / soreness to this leg.
Should I 1st apply a COLD-compress (for how long)? and then a warm pac (for how much longer)?
I have bought an ICY-HOT pac from my local Wal Mart and I am trying to use this ASAP.
Thanks for therapeutic advice.
I am staying off my feet. I want to learn the "tried and true" technique and the technique that WORKS.

You should ice it for the first 24-48 hours on and off when the area gets too cold for you then take it off then repeat as necesarry. Then you can use heat to relive and relax the muscles and tendons. Take some advil or something to help relive pain. If this dosent get better in the next week go to an Orthopedic doctor and try to get one that specilizes in knees. Get better.
