Strech Brace I am recovering from an open fracture in my elbow, my fingers are numb, is it normal and how long it'll take?
I have been in treatment for almost a month and a half and I am doing agressive terapy after surgery for an open fracture in my elbow, i was wearing the brace for one week and my fingers are numb, is this normal? will it recover? how long am I need for full recovering? I still can not reach my face or strech my arm. I want to be sure that I am in the right track to recover
Try to be patient...what your experiencing is normal.....You probably had some nerve damage from the fracture, plus during the surgery to repair it, some of the minor nerves probably were unavoidably cut....You may not get all of your feeling back, or full range of motion either, but a month and a half unfortunately is not enough time to tell...keep up with your therapy....it may be a full year before you know how good you will be.....that's how long it took me....not from a fracture, but a serious illness...I was in therapy for 3 months, and it really did take about a year...
